Hi James,Myself and many other HP users have been experiencing the same problem. As an audio engineer, I can attest that the DTS 'enhancements' are far from improving, in fact, they're downright atrocious. Whoever wrote and approved that DSP should be fired.
Froma cannon.Anyways, I have found a solution which I posted on the HP support forums.In case they decide to take it down for being useful, something their own tech support fails to be, I have copied it below:RIGHTO! Download the latest HP Spectre x360 audio drivers (sp74372.exe) and run that file. It's not the installer itself, but just unpacks the installer (and runs it). You will be asked where to unpack to. Choose a locationyou know and go there once the unpacking is done.Now navigate to (unpack folder)FreISST and delete these 19 files:dtsintelcoinstallerx64.dllIntcADSP. (7 files)intelcoinst.dllMaxxAudio.dll (6 files)RtkMic??dll (2 files)WavesS.exe (2 files)You may not need to delete all of those, but I did and the issue is solved.Now run the installer.

In a very handy turn of events, the installer will uninstall the previous drivers for you, restart Windows, then install the new driver. Thankfully it doesn't complain that some of the files are missingand therein lies the solution. I have removed the DLL files that contain the horrible DSP code.Time to verify.The DTS control panel won't run from the installed shortcut anymore, but if you go to the ISST folder, you can run RtkNGUI64.exe, go to Listening Experience tab and toggle the Audio Enhancements checkbox - it will make no difference to the sound. Once again, I congratulate the HP service team for acknowledging the problem and working so hard to fix it quickly for their paying customers.

Hi, I have recently installed Windows 7 64bit and am having a little trouble getting DTS to play on my amp. My setup is very basic and consists of:1) Clean Install of Windows 7 (64bit)2) NO third party software exept ac3filter163b and DivX MKV Installer3) Digital Coax from my sound card to my amp4) Amp capable of AC3 and DTS5) WMP (default win7 program)My problem is, when i try to watch/listen (mainly mkv but also the odd DTS wav file) to ANY DTS encoded audio my amp is only outputing PCM, yet AC3 (DD) works fine. I have setup ac3filter to the correct settings (i think) but can not get DTS to output properly. From what I have read on this forum I am starting to believe that this is not possible at the moment. Is this correct? If so, is there a temporary solution I can use untill it is possible? If I am just plain dumb and it should work, please can you tell me the correct settings within ac3filter.
